Mirror, Mirror

Mirror, Mirror

I don’t have any mirrors
Never liked what I’d see,
Always saw my Father
Staring back at me;

Never wanting to become
The one I despised the most,
As if somehow
I acquired his ghost;

Frozen for a moment
Memories come rushing in,
Seeing for a moment
The child deep within;

Then there’s the monster again
Staring back at me,
Never liked those mirrors

Never liked what I’d see.

What Choice???

What Choice?

When it comes to Love
I didn’t get to choose,
I knew it right away
The heart you can’t excuse;

I’ve known for a long time
That there was going to be a fight,
When my Rosebud is revealed
And she’s cast into the spotlight;

If our Love is to survive
We must show our strength,
Because in order to stop us
Society will go to any length;

And when we pass their test
They will leave us alone,
Only then can we be together
True Love will be known;

And in the aftermath
When it’s time to rejoice,
Everyone will want to know
If I’ve made the right choice;

And my answer will be simple
As I state in a clear voice,
I’ll answer your question by posing another…

What choice???

Abuse of the Worst Kind

Abuse of the Worst Kind

What kind of abuse?
Abuse of the worst kind,
A soul only protected
By the power of the Mind;

The kind spoken in hushed tones
In back rooms, behind closed doors,
The kind that touches many
Mine, his, and yours;

Why such a taboo?
Is it the helplessness you feel?
This is an epidemic,
Yes, it is real!

Everyone knows
And I’m sure that you care,
Just be sincere
And the children will share;

Share all the horrors
From deep inside their mind,
We want to tell someone

About the abuse of the worst kind.
